I have been waiting for this day all summer, and finally in October, it came.
The weekend weather of our summer was not very good. I did make several trips to the top of Mt Zion over the summer, but it was always rainy or cloudy. I heard that the views are great on a nice day.
So, I picked up the girls and we went to Mt Zion. I told them all summer we would do this trip.
They complained for most of the way up, Kelsey mostly, Jessica gave up once she realized it wasn't gonna help. I was on a mission. On the way down, the girls were singing and cheering themselves "we made it to the top". All that complaining was forgotten, that was all I needed to hear!

looks like a lovely day for a hike. Way to use the last decent weather we'll have for a while to your advantage. The girls are sure growing up. I think Jessie won't smile cuz she's trying to hide her braces :-)
Are you teaching them things? Knots? fire? plants? Mr. Eagle Scout!
I taught them a valuable lesson in finishing what you start. For a while, I had my doubts that we would make it to the summit.
yes, but can they tie a sheepshank? now, that's the question!
Nice shots. Haven't been up there for 30 years, but I'm thinking about a little mini-trip, & was worried some IT-zillionaire had built a Yuppie hive atop Mt Zion
